Message from the pac chair
On behalf of the PAC Executive Team, welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at Sunnyside!
We are looking forward to another successful year of building community and raising funds for our school within the bounds of the new normal.
As some of you may have read and heard, some COVID-19 related restrictions are still in play therefore impacting how we operate for the first quarter. Our first PAC meeting is on September 28 at 7:00pm via Zoom and we hope to see many of you online. The first PAC meeting is a time for us to share our plans with the parents for the upcoming school year and for you to ask questions and help you find opportunities to get involved with the PAC in ways that work for you. This is also a great opportunity for you to meet our principal, Ms. Paredes.
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 related restrictions we are still unable to hold large gatherings therefore our usual 'Welcome Back Bar B Q', 'Kindergarten Play Date' or the much anticipated 'Halloween Dance' are still on hold for this school term.
We are working towards arranging activities that comply with the current restrictions and look forward to sharing them with you in our first meeting. We always welcome your ideas and suggestions to make it fun for our children. Please feel free to share them with us via our email info@sunnysidepac.ca

We will be starting out once a month for the first term. Our first Hot Lunch will be Panagos on October 8th. Sign-in or sign-up for a new account and place an order online now through Munch-a-Lunch . Click here for more details on our fabulous Hot Lunch program.
Although we are always looking for volunteers to help out, due to COVID restrictions, please do not just show up at the school. Please contact Nicole, our Hot Lunch Coordinator for more information.
With so much construction around the school, please be mindful of pick up & drop off locations. The Kiss and Go, located in the upper parking lot by the front entrance, is an area to safely and quickly drop your child off before school. Your child must be able to unbuckle and exit the car independently, from the passenger's side, and head to class. Keep in mind that this is not an area to park and wait.
Students are encouraged to deposit their refundable juice and water bottles in the orange bins inside the school.
The PAC has an Express account at the Return-It Depot, whereby all your refundable containers can be returned throughout the year and deposited into the Sunnyside account. Our account/phone # is simply 888-888-8888. All funds will benefit Sunnyside Elementary.
