SR latch
An SR (Set-Reset; S-R) latch is a digital circuit with 1 bit memory set to 1 or reset to 0 via 2 inputs, S (set) and R (reset), often built via 2 cross-coupled NAND or NOR gates, and holds its state til an input pulse changes it.
[3] A latch is an asynchronous circuit (won't need a clock signal to work), and has 2 stable states, HIGH (“1”) and LOW (“0”), to be used to store binary data. Many sequential circuits and larger storage devices (shift registers) use latches as their principal building block.
