Assistant & Dailies

At base level 15 you unlock your assistant. This provides you with daily quest rewards in the form of Assistant’s Medal of Honor, access to the Kafra Adventurer Log, and more. Click on the Assistant button at the top of the screen and it will offer to lead you to the assistants room in Prontera.

To start click on the Daily button at the top of your screen and it will allow you to select a starting assistant. Choose anyone you wish they are merely aesthetic choices.

Once you’ve done this we can review the various things within the Assistant feature.

Dailies & Assistant Medals

When you open the assistant the first thing you’re greeted with is the Today’s Actions screen which shows dailies, weeklies, and tutorial quests. There is also a shortcuts tab but this just shows you features like socketing and will take you to the NPC if you click the button.

Each daily and weekly you complete gives you some Assistant’s Medal of Honor and experience towards your Kafra’s Adventure Log. In the top right corner you can see your weekly progress towards the cap, 1800 medals per week. This cap is account wide and many of these quests can be completed on your alts and do not give base/job exp so they are worth completing to reach this cap.

You may use these medals by opening your inventory, tapping on the center tab at the top of the screen that looks like a box, tapping on the money bag tab on the right side, then tapping on Assistant’s Medal of honor, then tapping Use.

Using the medals brings up the assistant shop interface. Here you can exchange your medals for items. The most important items to exchange for early on are Hot Meal (for SP recovery), and Big Cat Voucher 1 (blue slips). These slips allow you to pull on gacha for some headwear which usually contains something really good. If you cap out at 1800 medals a week that's 7200 medals a month, a little over 2 pulls worth of slips.

Example shop interface that sells Big Cat Voucher I
(Blue Gacha Slips)

If you don’t see this shop then chances are you picked a different assistant and that’s ok, you still have access to this shop but it’s not immediately apparent how to switch.

To switch shops, click on the down arrow underneath the very small Assistant icon near the top center of the screen. The opens up into a list of all assistant, each with their own shop and offerings. The shop that offers these slips is the second one down, the small pinked haired lady. Tap on her to switch shops.

Other assistants do offer useful stuff but early on you want these to obtain some good headwear such as the one-eye captain.

Each of the daily quests available every day reward you with 60 (sixty) assistant medals and the same quests are available every single day which include:

  • Complete 3 Board Quests

  • Gain 5 sets of Drops from Time Rift Dungeon

    • Instant complete gives you all of this

  • Use up 15 minutes of combat time

  • Send a pet on an adventure

  • Claim a pet labor reward

  • Make a contribution to your guild

  • Listen to minute at a jukebox for one minute

  • Eat 1 prepared dish

  • Buy one item from the lucky shop

  • Buy one item from the greedy shop

  • Enhance (not refine) a piece of equipment once

There are also weekly missions in the assistant interface which include:

  • Complete Normal Oracle Dungeon - 80 Medals

  • Complete Normal Oracle Dungeon - 100 Medals

  • Complete all 100 Floors of Endless Tower - 100 Medals

  • Kill all 5 MVP/MINI in Valhalla Ruins - 100 Medals

Since you are capped at 1800 Assistant Medals a week and all of the dailies give you 60 (sixty) Assistant Medals that means if you only did dailies you would need to complete a total of 30 each week to hit this cap. I recommend doing the following every day:

  • Board Quests

  • Time Rift Dungeon

  • Use Combat Time

  • Claim Pet Labor Rewards so those shops don't get full

  • Listen to Jukebox for 30 minutes

Doing just these five will cap you one day early so if you miss a day that's fine, but if you miss a few days there are plenty of very simple tasks to cap your Assistant Medals.

Board Quests

At base level 20 you'll unlock the mission board. As I mentioned above, one of the dailies is to complete 3 board quests from a quest board located in any town. The quests and rewards change daily but every town offers the same 5 quests for the day. Swipe to the right to see the other quests and rewards and choose the three that would benefit you the most.

Rewards from all board quests scale with your base level and reward you with base exp, job exp, zeny, and other varying rewards which include:

  • Accessories - Accessories that used to drop from the Time Rift dungeons now have a chance of dropping from board quests

  • Meteor Chain - Use to consume combat time at 4x the rate, while receiving 4x drops.

    • You should probably get these anytime you see them, they are fantastic and chains can be used without limit these days

  • Dish Pack - Gives you various meals such as Hot Meal, STR Meal A, DEX Meal B, etc.

  • Original Will Cook Chest - Gives you random cooked meals, usually of high quality

  • Belief Token - Worth 2000 zeny, exchanged instead of zeny when you upgrade Guild Praying

  • Zeny Bags - Open for 2000 zeny, equal value to belief tokens except the zeny goes into your pocket instead of being stored in an item.

    • Note that merchants can sell this for 2480 zeny using Lv10 OverPrice, making zeny bags the better value compared to Belief Tokens if you run any merchants since these bags can be put in shared storage

  • Yggdrasil Leaf - Use to revive a dead party member

  • Butterfly Leaf - Use to teleport back to your Save Location

  • Fly Leaf - Use to teleport to a random location on the current map. Great for getting around and mandatory for finding MVP/MINI bosses

  • Baby's Breath - At higher levels every daily will start to reward you with Baby's Breath. These can be gifted to various furniture shops to increase your rank with them so they sell you new furniture blueprints.

When starting out you may need to manually complete these but soon you'll start acquiring adventure meatballs, a currency that allows you to instantly complete these quests. To instantly completely them, open the quest board and tap the Instant button next to the quest you want to complete. It will prompt you to spend Adventure Meatballs on it every week so check the box to ignore this for the next 6 days for convenience.

Finally, every alt can do the same daily quests as your main and will give you Assistant Medals as well making it even easier to cap if you use them for some of the easier tasks like purchasing from the lucky shop. Some dailies are shared but several can be completed on each character.

Example of board quests and the instant complete option

Time Rift Dungeons

Starting from base level 121, another daily that you can complete are Time Rift Dungeons. These may also be completed instantly after your first clear but note that every run consumes 60 minutes of combat time. If you're just starting out you may need to recruit a strong friend or two to get the first clears done and push up the difficulty so you can instant complete the harder modes for better rewards. They give you Wasteland Ancient Equipment with augmentable versions dropping on harder difficulties as well as materials to create upgrade materials for these equips so these are definitely worth doing.

See the Time Rift Dungeons page for more details including images on how to instant complete.

Note, this may also include the new dungeons that start at level 20 which add a new dungeon every 20 levels. I have yet to experience this on my new character so keep in mind that ancient equipment may go from level 20 all the way to 180 now... stay tuned for more details!

Adventure Meatballs

You'll receive adventure meatballs from your pet while your logged in. If you see a gift icon coming out of your pet tap it to receive some meatballs, you may do this five times a day. If you haven't unlocked a pet yet then see the Pets page. Adventure meatballs can be used to complete daily tasks instantly such as Board Quests and Rift Dungeons so you'll be going through a lot of these on your main.

To use Adventure Meatballs to complete these instantly, you can open the normal interfaces from the quest board or time rift NPC or easier than that, simply tap on the Assistant Button and select the GO button next to either the Mission Board or Open Rift dailies. This will open up the corresponding screen that you can instant complete from anywhere, even while farming.

Another important use of these meatballs is to purchase Lucky Coins. You may purchase up to 15 lucky coins per week using Adventure Meatballs and these coins may be used to receive bonus loot after completing weekly content. For example, if you run Valhalla Ruins (a level 60 dungeon) with a group and they kill a boss, you may spend two lucky coins to receive additional set of drops from that monster as if you killed two of them.

To make purchases with these open your bag, then tap on the Zeny tab on the right side to see your currencies. Then tap on the center tab at the top to select the tab that contains these. Now tap on the adventure meatballs and select Use to bring up a shop.

To open the Adventure Meatball shop open your bag, then tap on the currencies tab, the center one on the far right. Then, tap on the center tab at the top right to see your special currencies. Select adventure meatball and tap Use to open the adventure meatball shop.

Adventure meatball shop

There are other goods for sale such as instant completes for Endless Tower but this content is easy enough that this would be wasteful. If you don't have time to complete this though you may want to spend Adventure Meatballs on this just to get the drops, its always worth getting loot from ET!

Eventually you'll unlock a Pet Labor shop called Cooking Center that you can assign pets to that will generate large amount of meatballs. Once you start doing group content though you'll be glad you have these coins.

Lucky Shop

Each of the main towns has a Lucky Shop NPC that you can spend Eden Coins on to purchase various materials. The materials shown in the lucky shop rotate out every day and recent changes allow you to purchase up to 999 of each item every day. If you find a material that's hard to find or expensive this is a great alternative to get what you need.

Build Guide

The next option on the left is the Build Guide. This provides gear suggestions that are fairly on point so use this to look at gear for alternative builds if you desire and can't find an up to date guide. You can also customize the defaults to show whatever gear you’re aiming for so you can update it with info you've found in a guide to quickly glance at this to keep yourself up to date.

Market Tracker

The third tab down features a market tracker of sorts that shows the top items that have huge volume changes, increase in price, or drop in price. This can be helpful to identify recent trends in materials.

There is also a market tracker website where you can type in any item you like to see two weeks of history. It also shows items on snapping that have fourth Enchantments so the site is a very useful tool when you start looking for these.

Kafra Adventure Log

The final selection on the left is the Kafra Adventure Log. This provides you with free rewards as you complete dailies and typically lasts about three months. Completing dailies in your assistant log increases experience here and every 100 experience increases your log level by 1.

F2P only receives items from the top row, including the face tattoo, blue slips and gold medals shown below. You also receive exchange coins to spend in the Exchange Rewards section of the log.

The second row costs about $9 USD to unlock for that “season” so think of season pass. Rewards are retroactive so you can get your log to 100, then pay to get everything all at once if you’re interested.

Finally the last row contains 65 million zeny, a pet only obtainable from this log, and a bunch of extra Exchange coins to spend in the Exchange rewards section of the log. This last row costs about $29 USD but is the most cost efficient way to purchase zeny so if you’re into that it’s a good deal, otherwise ignore it completely since the pet is never something amazing.

As for Exchange Rewards, there are several items here you’d really want to get with these coins, including Freyr coins, Extract Light Crystals, and Glittering Runes to name a few.

The headwear from this can be great for a new player but buying the extra rows is not mandatory, feel free to skip that.
