You should never entrust to human what can be done by machine
Before proceeding, see ABC 실증 도시 and its subpages if not yet read them.
An ABC city is a large enterprise employing most its citizens. However, citizens may select to start their own business as well. In any case, all business entities have to report their financial status in the same format, ABC Integrated Financial Reports or IFS, and in real time rather than by some accounting periods.
This specification is for the ERP of the entire city and for citizens how to start private corporations as well.
Regard the city as an extremely large machine like an airplane of which there should be no error in the sizes and materials of the components and which is working by harmonizing all the components' operation.
In a flight, only three kinds of jobs are needed: pilots, flight attendants, and air traffic controls. The role of each are strictly defined. In the city, numerous kinds of jobs are necessary. and their roles are strictly defined too.
For aircraft control systems, we don't speak of operating systems but of avionics, integrated avionics or computer airborne systems in general. For the ABC city, we speak of operating systems, Linux, which controls all parts and components of the city.
That Linux is our ERP.
First of all, let's see the peculiarities of the city.
Downtown is more like an airplane than suburb of the city is. All kinds of parcels are transported from point to point via logistic facilities such as underground tunnels and delivery robots.
All the spaces are controlled by ERP: room temperatures, humidities, water supply as sewages, electricity and so on.
ERP records and updates what objects and persons are where, when, and why.
ERP controls all the logistics and traffics.
Not so strict as downtown, but quite autonomous compared to ordinary cities.
All cars are autonomously driving.
All parcels are delivered by robot vehicles.
All energy is from green sources, especially winds.
Downtown
Suburb
Citizens need products to live: cars, foods, clothes, houses, roads, markets, banks and so on. So, the first step is determine what products are necessary how much, when and where.
How much spaces are necessary for 200,000 people's living: a half of them are residents, and the other half visitors.
What kinds of products are necessary how much: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and so on.
How to produce each kind of products when, where, by whom and how.
How to deliver or consume those products.
In the city, (1) most organizations are autonomously running online applications, and (2) all residential buildings has commercial facilities so that the traffic demands are less than one tenth of ordinary nations and cities. For example, there is no city hall, county office, marts, police stations, courts, local councils and so on.
All buildings are linked by sky ways.
All cars are shared and driving autonomously.
All roads are roofed with solar panels.
All parcels are delivered through underground tunnels and delivery robots.
Let's calculate how many cars and delivery robots are necessary for the city, and how to produce them.
The city provides three lunch boxes a day for all the citizens including visitors.
Each person has her own appetites and amount of food to eat.
What kinds of food ingredients are necessary when and how much.
How to cultivate, procure, store and distribute food ingredients to which food factories.
How to deliver lunch boxes to each citizen.
How to cook which food when where and by whom.
It's fastidious to provide uncontaminated & clean water to citizens.
How to reserve large amount of water for a long period.
How to deliver clean water to every space of the city.
How to monitor water quality provided to citizens.
How to monitor water usages.
The consumption of electricity at homes and offices of the city are less than a third of current one.
Though the wind and solar resources of the Jejudo island is more than enough to the city's needs, it's somewhat troublesome to match the time of production and consumption of electricity.
All electric wires are buried underground or in walls.
Each building and house is assumed to produce its own energy consumption. There are various vertical helix wind turbines available for homes.
Because laundry services and foods are provided by the city, electric consumptions at homes are quite less than current houses.
Living in the city is similar to living in a hotel. Like a hotel, the city provides most needs of citizens such as cooking, washing clothes, clearing rooms and so on. And, as all electronics are owned by the city, there is no idle electronics at home.
As cooking, laundry and clearing are done by professional services employed by the city, no vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, and washing machines are necessary at home and offices.
Even computers are just displaying data and communicating with the cloud of the city, and heavy computing processes are done by the cloud.
Only a TV matters. The energy efficiency of Various TV products varies quite a lot. For example, TCL 55" TV consumes power less than any other 55" TV.
One of the demerits of solar panels and wind blades is visual inconvenience. However, there have been technical developments such as Tesla solar roofs and solar walls.
Every roof and wall is covered with solar panels.
Of course, the larger blades are, the more energies produced. One big turbine produces more energy than ten small ones. However, the larger they are, the more difficult to construct.
Ones again, the wind and solar resources of the Jejudo island are more than enough for the city. So, there is no need of fossil or atomic energies at all.
In the city, all the spaces has large or small bathrooms for the sanitary purpose to prevent COVID like pandemics.
How, where and how much to produce, manage and repair all the bathrooms?
How to check the cleanness of each bathroom?
Where to build a large wastewater treatment plant?
How to utilize wastewater? For example, power generation and fertilizers.
Not all clothes are for fashions. Shoes, socks, sanitary pads and underwears etc. are necessities for living. The city provides those necessities. With mass production without market mechanism, the city may reduce the price of those to one fifth of ordinary ones, upgrading the quality of those products at the same time.
The city selects a few designs and manufacturers via competition.
East or west, home is best. The city is not exception. There are two kinds of houses in the city. The first is public, and the second is private.
All the citizens of the city are selected/recruited by the city whether they are adults or students.
The city is the employer of most citizens. Every citizen above some age should work, and the city provides jobs to any citizen who want to work for the city.
Any citizen may start his/her own business or work for private cooperations.
Regardless of working at the cooperations which the city owns or not, every citizen may reside in public houses in the city.
The public houses are designed, built and maintained by the city, but the private ones are not.
All the houses are connected by logistic tunnels through which parcels and foods are delivered by robotic machines.
Citizens are given houses near to their works.
About 10,000 citizens share one residential complex in which normal commercial facilities are available.
The city monitors who is in which house, controls the temperature and humidity of each space.
More than 90% of citizens will reside in public houses which are equipped with furnitures and home electronics etc. much like hotels.
Ordinary factories are not included in the city design as the ABC city is not intended to be an industrial zone of a country, but an educational and R&D center of each nation as well as a gateway between the nation and the world. The social role of the city is similar to that of 대덕(Daeduck) research complex, Korea.
Like MIT labs, all labs in the city are keenly linked to industrial sectors around the world.
All labs are educational facilities at the same time.
The commercial area of the city is quite different from those of ordinary cities. Most workers in service businesses are employed by the city.
All houses, cars, electronics, furnitures, computers and so on are owned by the city.
The city provides three meals a day and operates businesses for popular eatings such as fried chickens and pizzas. All foods are delivered from point to point via the logistic system of the city.
The city operates most of service businesses: laundries, public toilets, beauty salons, dental clinics, hospitals, schools and so on.
Convenience stores are unmanned, and use reusable packages and bottles only.
The city provides all devices, machines, materials consumed by those service businesses.
In addition, any citizen may open private shops such as restaurants and beauty shops. We design those public service and commercial facilities.
All hospitals are operated by the city, and every citizen checks her health screenings twice a year.
The city monitors the health of each citizen periodically. For example, patients with high blood pressure or diabetes are screened their symptoms at least once per week.
There is only one hospital with many branches.
Like all other employees of the city, the activities of medical staffs are checked and recorded by the city.
If related law permits, Death With Dignity is not excluded.
As citizens work only 4 days a week, they have quite a lot free time.
Exercises are good for both body and mental.
The city operates sports and leisure complex, monitors who enjoys what activities with whom and when.
The city provides all devices and machines for those activities.
The city provides three meals a day via lunch boxes delivered from food factories to orderers.
Each of 200,000 citizens has different aptitudes and consumes different amount of food.
The city calculates what kinds of food materials are consumed everyday, even every meal of the city.
If there is an error in calculation, there must be shortage or waste of food materials.
All foods should be delivered safely both for fool and logistics system.
Meal boxes are reusable, and should be easy to collect and wash.
Pseudo Code
Contrary to ordinary homes, clothes etc. are washed by laundry facilities.
Citizens sends laundries to the facilities via the city logistic system such as underground tunnels and logistic cars.
According to the kinds and amounts of laundries to wash, there are several kinds of laundry boxes to be delivered to the facilities.
Laundries are directly put into washing machines according to the kinds and amounts of them.
Washing machines are both for washing and drying.
Power is generated by wind turbines and solar panels of each facility.
There are many kinds of ceremonies in life such as weddings and funerals. All kinds of ceremonies are serviced by the city.
As the city burdens all expenses, there is no private subsidies(부조).
Only one funeral, ossuary and crematorium, no tomb. All the materials and so on are provided by the city, and there is no difference in the quality of those products. For example, there is only one kind of clothes(or cerement) and coffin to be burnt.
Weddings are done quarterly or twice a year, and any citizen is welcome to any wedding ceremony. There is only one type of wedding dress for men and for women, selected via design competition.
Each employee is differentially compensated by the degree of client satisfaction.
Citizens may buy and sell private houses, but all the lands are owned by the city.
The city provides more than 1,000 house designs, and a citizen may select one and modify it for her needs.
The construction is done by city employees according to the house specification and job guidelines.
Private houses are not directly connected to city logistic tunnels, but delivered parcels via logistic cars.
Like public houses, all electricity and other utilities are monitored and controlled by the city.
Private houses are traded freely like other commodities. Of course, all kinds of administrative works are done automatically by the market system of the city.
Citizens may have pets, but only in private houses.
All pets are registered and monitored by the city.
All pets should be covered by health insurance, and there is only one animal hospital operated by the city.
All pets should be live in dignity. For example, a dog should take a walk periodically.
As cars in the city drive autonomously in low speeds, car accidents are quire rare. That is, the city is an ideal place to ride bicycles and other small transportations such as skateboards.
All vehicles are shared and some are equipped with batteries.
Any citizen may use a vehicle from any point to any.
Safety measures are strictly required: helmets, knee covers and so on.
All machines are owned and maintained by the city.
There are several types and sizes of bicycles.
The seat height of a bicycle can be adjusted by the rider's body shape, which is stored in her smartphone.
The city operates quite a lot public toilets over the city.
Every room or space has a small bathroom equipped with a toilet bowl.
All toilets outside a room are public, regardless inside or outside of buildings.
No toilet papers. All toilet bowls are in negative pressure with a bidet and a hot air drier.
All toilets are in negative pressure to prevent stinks, and cleaned /washed automatically by themselves.
The cleanness and sanitary status are monitored by the city 24hrs/day.
Malfunctions are automatically reported to the related personnels.
A toilet bowl is automatically washed after use.
Sewages are utilized to forest etc.
As citizens have a low more free time compared to those in other regions, they enjoy exercises and leisure activities. So, the city operate several public pools with baths.
Citizens should always wear some kinds of clothes.
They may change underwears, socks, sportswear etc. Their clothes are sent to laundry facilities and then to their home via the city logistics system. They may buy new wears with coupons provided by the city.
Located in Jejudo island, Korea, the city itself is designed as a very large park with seawaters flowing along the main roads.
Offshore wind turbines circulate, purify and provide oxygen to seawaters
The waterway is for both leisures and inland fish farms.
Citizens may do swimming, kayaking, skin diving and so on.
Parasols and beach chairs along the waterway are managed by the city.
The 100,000 residents of the city are either students, city employees, private business persons or their family members. Those are selected via strict screening and competitions from 193 nations over the world. City employees do works what machines can't. And, ABC never entrust to humans what can be done by machines.
The common language of the city is English.
About a half of the citizens are students from kindergartens to graduate schools. Different from ordinary schools, the students in the ABC campus are from all over the world, and only 1% are Koreans though the city is in Korea.
All learning materials are in English.
All students are living in dormitories.
There is no teachers or professors similar to those in other cities. All students are learning by themselves with online lectures and various study groups.
The learning and achievements of every student are monitored by the campus.
Every city employee has one or more talents to do works, and the city knows who has what kinds of talents from majors to minors. The city is similar to a large company such as Samsung and Hyundai.
Like Samsung or Hyundai,
The city determines who will work what kind of jobs, when, where, with whom and so on.
The city monitors and evaluates the performance of each employee.
The city is made up of lands, people, buildings, cars, wind turbines, solar panels and so on. ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) is to optimize the utilization of those resources to produce most values or products.
First of all, the city itself is a web database. All the information about the city is stored and displayed via web.
You may regard the city as a machine like airplane or car, but extremely large one. The space of the city are measured using UPS(Urban Positioning System) of which error is less than 1mm just like a machine.
The space is divided by "Unit Spaces" each of which is 1 cubic cm and has unique IPv6 address.
Each unit space belongs to one, only one "Base Square" which is same to the cadastral map, which also has unique IPv6 address.
Each unit space and base square has one or more predefined usage, which is same to usage of lands such as roads, residential buildings, factories, farms, parks, seashores, forests and so on.
Pseudo Codes
Every citizen is a labor who can do what machines can't.
Each building, room and space has unique IPv6 address. For example, a 10 story building with 100 rooms and dozens of corridors has a unique IPv6 address, and each room and corridor of it also.
An IPv6 address is linked to an website or webpage which displays information or data about the object which it represent. For example, the IPv6 address of a building has an website which displays all information about the building such as who, when, why it is build, who uses it and so on.

A. Residential Buildings or Houses
All houses are connected to the grid of logistics, and the city controls the temperature and humidity of each home.
Any parcel can be delivered from door to door in the city via the logistic system. Most parcels are delivered in the standard delivery cubic box of which size is 50cm x 50cm x 50cm. Larger ones such as furnitures and home electronics are delivered via robotic delivery vehicles.
The city monitors controls the temperature of each space in a house as it knows who is in which house and which room.
The city is just an unmanned computer system which protects the privateness of citizens.
B. Commercial Buildings
Because all the furnitures, electronics, vehicles are owned by the city, the commercial zone are not so big as those of current ones.
Most of the service businesses are partially or entirely owned and operated by the city: beauty shops, dental clinics, convenience stores, cafes and so on.
The city manages all the machines and facilities of commercial zones, and provides all the materials necessary to provide services. For example, the city provides food materials to all the restaurants regardless of how much equity of each the city owns.
The city monitors what machines or devices are being used for what purpose by and to whom etc.
All the commercial facilities are at least partially owned by the city. For example, a dental clinic may be owned 50% by the city, and the rest are private. So, the city participates in the operation of all commercial businesses.
C. Factories
Though the city is not designed to be an industrial zone, there are some factories to make products or to provide services to its citizens.
The city provides three meals a day to all citizens. So, the food factory of the city may be the largest.
The main role of the city is an R&D center of a nation. It designs and makes prototypes of various products from toothbrushes to satellites. The city provides all the spaces, machines and materials to make such prototypes.
The city determines which facility is equipped with what machines and structures, who works at which facility and why. It also provides all maintenance services and materials necessary if reasonable.
The Jejudo island, Korea, where the city is planned to be, has a plenty of winds and sunlights.
Due to the recent technical advances in construction and establishments of wind turbines at seashores, the cost of electricity per KW from winds has significantly reduced in the last decade.
The technology of solar roofs also has advanced quite a lot, resulting in cost reduction and improved appearance.
The city is to produce all the required energy from green resources, and to distribute it to consumers.
Similar to the Himalaya mountain between the Indian ocean and the west north of China, the Jejudo island absorbs a large amount of rains from cloudy winds which moves from the pacific ocean to the Korean peninsula.
The city is to reserve water, to distribute it to consumers, to monitor water quality and consumptions, and to recycle or reuse waste water.
Unlike the Korean peninsular of which soil is not so good for farming, the soil of farms around the city is good enough to feed 200,000 citizens.
The city itself cultivates various vegetables, fruits and grains.
The inland waterway of seawater in the city is a quite large fish farm.
The offshore ranch is to produce chickens, porks and so on.
The city is to monitor each farm and ranch, to fertilize fields, and to feed livestocks and fishes.
The ERP of the city(hereinafter, "the city") is to deliver resources necessary for production or living in a manner of cost effective and reasonable.
Demands are from human or system. For example, a cook may request a new corn oil for the next daywork, and an autonomous car may request the check of a motor attached to the front right wheel.
The city determines whether the request is reasonable or not. For example, the corn oil requested by a cook may be inappropriate to the food scheduled to be produced at the facility next day.
If the city determines a request as reasonable, it schedules how to deliver the products in a timely manner. For example, if the corn oil is to be consumed at 12:00 next day, it need not to be delivered today or earlier than 12:00 tomorrow.
ERP is to schedule human labors, materials, machines, facilities, lands and spaces to yield maximum outputs from minimum inputs.
