Readers are recommended to real ABC Logistics and ABC Web first.
East or west, home is best, and house is the base of home. Houses in ABC are quite different from those until now;
All houses are linux machines connected to the ABC Web.
They are connected via ABC Logistics.
Most houseworks such as cooking, laundry and cleaning are provided by professional services rather than family members.
Children live in school dormitories, and most seniors live in nursing homes.
Most houses, furniture and appliances are owned by the city and rented out by citizens for a period of time.
Citizens live near their workplaces.
A big house is better than a small house, but expensive. ABC can provide a large enough house for a reasonable price. We are developing various technologies to reduce construction cost. One of them is building assembled from ready made sections in factories. For example, a bathroom is made in a factory and assembled into a house at the construction field.
Another example is minimalism. For example, bricks can also be used for interior purposes as long as they are well designed and crafted.
It is estimated that about half of the construction cost can be reduced through mass production and efficient work processes.
See "4. House Factory" below for details.
ABC provides two types of houses: public and private. ABC manages all the house affairs such as cooking, laundry, cleaning. electricity, water, repair etc.
Public houses are for employees of the city. As owned by the city, citizens can only rent them.
Private houses are for anyone who can afford to buy.
Because the floor design and the operational architecture are quite different from ordinary ones, we call those houses as ABC house.
The floor design of ABC house is quite different from ordinary ones.
All parcels are delivered directly into the reception box in houses. See the logistic system of the city.
All foods are delivered via logistic tunnels underground and walls. So, there is no kitchen in a house. See ABC Food for detail.
There is no washing machine as the city provides professional laundry services via logistic tunnels. See ABC Laundry for detail.
Room temperature and humidity is controlled by the main controller of the city. See ABC Utilities for detail.
Located in downtown, those are normally high story buildings, more like hotels than apartments. Assuming 50,000 residents of a city;
Owned by the city.
No animals.
No children as they reside in dormitories.
About 1,000 citizens will share one APT complex, an example is shown in the picture below.
There will be one commercial complex for every 1,000 citizens, total 50 commercial complexes.
Every commercial complex provides all kinds of service industries from laundry, ABC foods, restaurants, dentists, medical clinics and so on.
All 50 commercial complexes are networked and managed by ABC. For example, if a specific dental patient can't be treated by the dentist of his/her residential complex, he/she is automatically sent to the dentist in another complex which can treat the dental problem.
Located the suburb of the city. The main difference between public and private houses are the the latter can keep dogs and cats, owned privately and freely tradable at the market.
Normally low story houses.
Just like public houses, all are networked and managed by the ABC, but the monitoring by ABC is optional.
May have kitchens and laundry rooms.
Private houses also encompass all the benefits of public houses such as three meals a day, laundry and cleaning services so on at quite reasonable prices.
For example, the ABC Pilot City in Jejudo might have 10,000 private houses, all of which are designed, constructed and sold by the City at reasonable prices.
All houses are monitored and managed by ABC. That is, ABC sees all activities done by houses themselves and those by people in houses.
There is no privacy issues from the monitoring of ABC. ABC is just a system like a light or a TV. The only difference is that, if necessary and when permitted by related laws, some related personnels and organizations may see what ABC has seen in houses. So, ABC is a kind of light which can remember what it saw in rooms.
For example, in current cities, if there is a murder in a house, but no one knows the criminal, forensic team may scrutinize the crime scene and a few investigators gathers to reveal the entire shape of the crime. But, in ABC, ABC has seen and recorded all about what has happened in the room.
A house is a facility which has its own data vault. See ABC Data Vault for detail.
Pseudo Codes
ABC's approach to home construction is to build walls and more in a factory and then assemble them on site. Another is to simplify construction processes. For example, bricks can be used for both skeleton and interior of a house.
Concrete screed flooring in various patterns is both beautiful and cost efficient.
Mass production can compensate for the shortcomings of the general modular structure.
How to produce walls and bricks of different sizes and shapes? The most important part of ABC construction is to automate the production of various housing components.
For example, assuming a new ABC city which will encompass 200,000 citizens needs 100,000 houses, buildings, facilities, roads and various infrastructures;
First of all, design all the houses and buildings, furnitures, electronics, roads, infrastructures.
Develop a mechanism of standardizing all of those tangible assets necessary to build the city. For example, SINGLE toilet bowl can be applied to 100,000+ toilets in the city.
Simulate the manufacturing and construction of the city.
