Discussion
Respect is giving high regard to someone or giving value to something.
As the child grows older, he or she is taught how to respect his or her parents, elders, teachers, school administrators, student leaders, and others. He or she is also taught how to respect others’ rights and feelings.
There are ways to respect people:
1. Look at their eyes and listen while they are talking. Do not do anything while they are talking. If you want to say something say it after they have finished.
2. Be punctual at all times. Everybody’s time is valuable.
3. Do not insult or embarrass people.
4. Speak in a low voice.
5. Respect others’ opinions, likes, and dislikes.
6. Treat people the way you want to be treated.
7. Do not judge other people.
8. When somebody tells you something confidential, keep it to yourself.
9. Treat everyone with kindness and respect.
10. Be careful with words that you say. Once you have hurt other people, it will be hard for them to forget it.
