Tongue - is the sense organ for your sense of taste.
The small bumps on your tongue are called papillae. Most of the taste buds are found in the papillae.
Taste buds allow you to taste.
The tongue is a mobile organ. You can move it in many directions. It is used for tasting and swallowing. It also helps in chewing food.
All parts of the tongue can detect the 4 basic tastes: sour, sweet, salty, and bitter.
Taste is related to smell. If you have a cold, you have difficulty smelling. Food tastes bland too when you cannot smell.
