Acts 1:1-3
Jesus Gives His Disciples Many Convincing Proofs that He is Alive
1 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.
Job 42:1-6
Job Comments that There Are Some Things Just Too Wonderful to Understand
1 Then Job replied to the Lord:
2 “I know that you can do all things;
no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3 You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know.
4 “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.’
5 My ears had heard of you
but now my eyes have seen you.
6 Therefore I despise myself
and repent in dust and ashes.”
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding
Jesus offers us Great Hope...He offers us hope in many ways...He offers us hope in the fact that He is the Son of God...He offers us hope in that He is from above and came and dwelt upon the earth...He gives us hope in all the different miracles that He did...And He gives us this Great Hope when He died on the cross and forgave us of our sins...He gives us Great Hope that He was resurrected and became alive again after His death...
And during our times of trials and tragedies, we need hope...
We look for love and forgiveness and the greatest of all things in books, in places, in other people and the reality is this Greatest and Most Wondrous of All Things is only present in God...Job had talked and talked with his friends and still there was knowledge and beauty missing...There was still out there that Job was looking for...Job found this out when God came out of the storm...Somehow Job and all his tragedies and terrible health was better when He was in the Presence of God...Job felt much better, knowing he was in the Presence of God and that God existed...And at that time Job realized that he did not need to understand everything about his tragedies and suffering...Job, while in the Presence of God, realized that there are some things to wonderful and beautiful for us to comprehend and understand...
Job now certainly leaned on God's understanding and not on his own...
