Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight
Matthew 6:25-34
Do Not Worry, But Trust in God
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and He will make your paths straight...If any Man, ever completely did this, it is Jesus...I would say that He trusted God completely...Some may say that He had some doubt, for instance while He was in the Garden of Gethsemane and as He died on the cross, quoting Psalm 22:1 and asking Him about His closeness and being forsaken, but Jesus trusted God...
Jesus walked and traveled a lot around Israel...Jesus was a Traveling Teacher, a Traveling Rabbi...He ministered from village to village...There is no doubt that as He traveled around that over time He had gained a good reputation...No doubt people wanted to see Him do the things they had heard about Him doing...I suspect, people who had not met Him would want to hear His teachings and I am sure they would want to see the miracles that were circling about the villages that He had visited during His teachings...Could this Traveling Rabbi, actually do miracles and could He heal people?...
Jesus was One who did not seek money, or wealth, or material things...We are not told of His personal desires outside of God...He did seek fame or to be in the inner circles of the Pharisees, the Sanhedrin, or the scribes...And while it seems in the nature of man in which we often seek the things we do not have or things we have not attained, Jesus did not seek those things that most men sought...Instead, He did as the Bible told Him and He continued to seek, teach, and talk about God...It seems that He did not worry...He trusted God and knew that God would provide Him and His Disciples with the things that they needed as they traveled around...He did not worry about where His next meal or next set of clothes or sandals might come from, because of His Trust in His Father...He was this True, but pure, authoritative Traveling Rabbi that put God first, and knew the priorities of life better than anyone...
