Genesis 1:25-30
God Creates the Animals and the Creatures that Move on the Ground
25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
Psalm 145:9

Luke 12:6
God Cares for His Animals and His Creations
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.
God created all the wild animals according to their species and kinds, and the livestock, and all the other creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds...God provided food to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground —everything that has the breath of life in it —He gave every green plant for food...And God looked and His animal creations and saw that it was good...And it was so...Right after the creation of the animals, God created man...He made us is His Image...And then He made it so man would rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground...
Man is over (and rules) all animals and things of the earth...And Solomon says in the Proverbs that we should know the condition of the animals we have and to give them their proper attention...
Now Jesus teaches us more about this in the story about the sparrow...The sparrow was one of the least expensive animals in the time of Jesus...He provided them their food...God has mercy on all His creations...Jesus tells us the story about the little sparrow...In Jesus' time five sparrows were sold for two pennies...A sparrow was less than a cent a piece...And man might have a tendency to forget about the value and worth of this small bird, but there is Someone about who will not...The tiny-small sparrow sold for a fraction of a penny, yet God has never forgotten one of them...These sparrows, these common birds are cared for by our LORD...He knows the date of their deaths of these so inexpensive of birds...This shows His Divine Providence in His mercy and caring for these birds...If God cares about every sparrow, consider how much more He must care for man -who He allows to rule over them...
Now just because we are rule over the animals, we must treat them with mercy as God does and says...His tender mercies are taught by Jesus in this story of the sparrows...The little and inexpensive sparrow that dies has much care and is not forgotten by its Creator...Let us show these same tender mercies as He does toward God's workmanship and things of the earth that He has created...
