The Bible teaches us we many attributes about our LORD...Here are four things about His attributes...We should trust in the LORD...God is the truth...God is unchanging...God is love...
When we think about trust, it is very much related to truth, change and love...I will give a weak analogy on this...Suppose you read in the paper a man throughout his life has changed his position on being a democrat and republican...His views every eight years change and he changes and votes republican and then eight years later he likes all the democrats ideas and then votes for all democrats...This person has changed...Well, there is nothing wrong with this, but he has done this all his long life and is always changing every eight years..Would you trust someone like this?...You might and you might not...Suppose this person is your friend...Would your now trust him?...Probably...Now suppose this person is your son...Would you trust him?...Certainly, he is your son...What is wrong with a good son, changing his mind...You love your son...And you happen to love your son very, very much...
Now suppose this changing issue is one you believe strongly in and the issue is more controversial to you...This person regularly changes his mind on abortion and free choice...Would your trust that person in the paper, if he regularly changes his mind?...What about the friend or the good son?...Love, and change factor in your belief on trust...When the issues become more of the issues you are passionate about, I think one's trust changes...
Since God is the truth and is love, He cannot change...And we need the truth, because one cannot trust in a lie or falsehood...If He changes, and changes his attributes regularly how can you trust Him?...But love is related to this...God is pure love...He is pure light, nutritional light...If we could completely understand this, and had complete love for Him, like He has for us, we would trust Him, because He is love...Also, we would trust Him, because He is the truth...(In this weak sense, think about this when our good son's changes his mind)...
We can get to our LORD from the truth to trust, from His unchanging love...Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow...There are universal truths...One plus one equals two in any language and in any place on the earth...God gave us a conscious to believe in absolute morality...We know that when someone intentionally hurts a child, for no reason, anywhere on earth that is wrong and is a universal truth...God gave man a heart to love...Love is universal...LOVE is everywhere...God gave us all these universal truths...God's Word is Truth...God is the Truth...There universal truths are evidences of God...There has to be the universal truths, or we could not trust in Him...
