Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Jesus teaches us to love God and to love neighbor...Let us understand too, that we really do trust both God and neighbor...Jesus forever ties God and man when He told us this - love God and love neighbor...
We trust and depend on people...We may think we do but we trust people almost in a presupposed and direct way...Those of us who do not grow gardens or have a supply of meat and other foods to eat our meals and supply us with nourishment...When we go to work we depend and trust that all those driving vehicles will follow the rules and not get in our lane or veer toward us as we drive to work or wherever we go...
Martin Luther King Jr. in his Sermon on Peace in 1967, said" Did you ever stop to think that you can’t leave for your job in the morning without being dependent upon most of the world?...Before you finish eating breakfast in the morning, you’ve depended on more than half the world...This is the way our universe is structured...It is its interrelated quality...We aren’t going to have peace on earth until we recognize this basic fact of the interrelated structure of all reality."...
So let us not only peace in this world by trusting people in this interrelated structure of the world...And let us more importantly, trust in the LORD and lean on His understanding of the world and universe...
