Hebrews 13:8
Jesus the Truth is the Same, Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
There are universal truths and they give us great evidence of God...How are there these universal truths, truths that are the same here and everywhere in the world?...How do one plus one equals two here and everywhere in the world?...All of mathematics and the physics of things have universal truths to them...Not only are these truths universal, they also are unchanging...Where did these universal truths come from?...And to know and learn about more universal truths, we need the ability to reason...The Creator gives us this ability to reason...
C. S. Lewis said, "Supposing there was no intelligence behind the universe, no creative mind...In that case, nobody designed my brain for the purpose of thinking...It is merely that when the atoms inside my skull happen, for physical or chemical reasons, to arrange themselves in a certain way, this gives me, as a by-product, the sensation I call thought...But, if so, how can I trust my own thinking to be true?...It's like upsetting a milk jug and hoping that the way it splashes itself will give you a map of London...But if I can't trust my own thinking, of course I can't trust the arguments leading to Atheism, and therefore have no reason to be an Atheist, or anything else...Unless I believe in God, I cannot believe in thought: so I can never use thought to disbelieve in God."
God has given us a mind to reason things out...The brain was created and designed for the very purpose of thinking...The mind is more (with its other parts working together) is more than atoms inside our skulls just having chemical reactions...God has designed the brain in a complex way for the purpose of having thoughts, and to work through our thoughts and finally to reason things out...Reason and reasoning do exist...And when we reason things out, we get knowledge...And if we are lucky enough, God will give us wisdom...The prophet Isaiah writes that God tells us to reason and reason together...So He gives us a mind to reason with Him and about Him...Somehow we are guided to the Truth and to reasoning...And as we gain knowledge, if we are fortunate enough, we gain knowledge, understanding and wisdom...God has designed the mind for us to get from thoughts, emotions, feelings and opinions to logic and reasoning...
But the total reasoning process happens in ways that is currently unknown to man...Jon Kabat Zinn, an expert on mindfulness, says that our thoughts are mental and discreet events...And he says many of our thoughts are not truth, and not fact...And he is right...Every thought we have is not a fact...Many of our thoughts are not truths at all...They are just part of the mental process that goes on in thinking...Yet, we know that reason and reasoning exists, and exists universally...
Thoughts may only be mental events, but somehow the body and mind with its many parts, is guided by something or Someone to a process that we call reasoning...We are given feelings and emotions, as well as thoughts...And somehow our feelings work in a way with our thoughts, that we have this ability to get to reasoning...And the heart seems to be involved in our reasoning process...And as stated earlier, this is a universal thing...The world somehow understands that there is a right and there is a wrong...Our thoughts take us from our personal mental events to reasoning and to logic...And from logic we gain knowledge...And from knowledge God may give us wisdom...God is involved in our reasoning process...How can we be organized, think rationally, and believe in logic without God?...Without God our brain is just creating physical and chemical events at random...How can we trust our own thinking, if our thoughts are produced at a random level?...
It seems to me that how we were raised as children, with the experiences we have in life, and this process of the mind, each one of us comes up with our own belief system (of what we believe and believe in)...God has given us emotions, which have an impact on how and what we feel, our thoughts, as well as our actions...So what we believe in, has a major impact on what we think and our thoughts (and these mental events of thoughts that we have)...
For us to have knowledge of these universal truths, we need a Universal Teacher...And this universal knowledge came from God...The Universal Teacher is Jesus...He stood up two thousand years ago and said I AM Truth...The Truths we have in life came from God through Jesus...All things were made through Him, even our universal Truths...
Life is more than our thoughts...And from thoughts we get knowledge...So life, seems to be more than man's knowledge...For there to be purpose in our lives this has to be...For there to be meaning in our lives, we must move beyond our own thoughts and beliefs...A place where there are no boundaries...A place that answers all the questions and things that lie within each one of us...We must move to the Spiritual...We need a place of Absolute Truth, that is universal and eternal...A place that knows our deepest needs...The place of a Father and His Son...The soul's place is the Holy of Holies...
