Proverbs 11:13-14
A Gossip Betrays One's Confidence
13 A gossip betrays a confidence,
but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.
14 For lack of guidance a nation falls,
but victory is won through many advisers.
St. John wrote that Jesus is Truth...The Disciple wrote that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the life...When we believe in Jesus we see the importance of Truth, because He is Truth...
And to contrast Truth we have some who prefer to gossip and not seek the Truth...Solomon wrote in Proverbs that a gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret, while a perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends...The integrity of the the one's who tell the truth their upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity and double dealing...So, we have to be on guard for those who stir up conflict...Gossip has a tendency to spread like a bad infection and often it is difficult to contain...And it seems like some people seem to enjoy to listen to gossip and slander and things that are untrue...And it can be for lack of guidance a nation may fall...
Jesus told the Complete Truth...While gossip and slander may have some truth in it, it misses Truth in the sense that we need truth to believe and have the best perspective on our personal views and opinions...Gossip can separate close friends...Half truths and gossip most of do not time, when they get passed on, we sometimes do not where the truth ends and the lie begins...
Truth must be more valuable than a lie and we each should research something that we do not know where the truth begins and the lie lie begins and then (the lie and the perverse person) may want the lie to extend and keep a life of its own...And it maybe the perverse person wants the lie to go on and on...
The LORD detests those whose hearts and tongues are perverse, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless...
