Identification and recording of plant & animal species

In this activity you will identify plant and animal species in the field with the assistance of two cell-phone apps, Plant Snap and iNaturalist. Download both of these apps to your phone.  After watching the following videos in full-screen, use these two phone apps to identify as many plant and animal species as time permits at the various field trip sites. Take photos of the species identify the files by changing the name to reflect the name of the species.  Upload your photos to the shared folder. 

• 1. Download Google Drive to your phone

  2. Open the link to the LA River collaborative folder.  If you select "Add to my Google drive" the folder will appear whenever you wish to upload a photo.  Be aware that "adding to drive" may consume some memory.

  3. After identifying plant and animal species using the two apps, change the name of the file to reflect the name of the species, and upload to the appropriate field trip site.
