John 4:48
Believing in Jesus' Miracles and Wonders
48 “Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”
Mark 6:4-6
Lack of Miracles in Jesus' Own Hometown
4 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” 5 He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 He was amazed at their lack of faith.
I saw a few year ago on the History Channel people explaining in a logical and rational way the miracles that God did when He brought His people out of Egypt...The miracles of the Exodus was explained by pure reason...The documentary tried to tell us that the miracles of leading His people out of Egypt were from the hand of nature instead of being from the hand of God...
I think that when people experience a miracle, that they do try to reason out what happened logically and reasonably...They try to explain the miracle away, so it will no longer be a miracle...And even though somethings miracles are unexplainable, we try to figure out the reason the miracle happened in a logical way...If a health miracle happens after our prayers, and the prayer is answered, we might say that the good attending doctor was the one doing the miracle...If something happens we cannot explain we search for other reasons than God being involved...Some miracles happen that involve nature and some are just so subtly a part of our day we overlook them...
I also think that many people of Jesus time did not notice His some of His miracles, overlooked some of His miracles, or missed them because of their lack of faith...
God is very subtle in doing miracles...And nature speaks of God, so using nature for a miracle should not go unnoticed...I often think that He set up the Natural Laws and I really think He doesn't want to do pomp and circumstance type miracles...He lets His natural laws go about doing their miraculous thing everyday...But God created nature...And if He has nature assist Him in doing a miracle, the miracle is still from the hand of God...If a good doctor helps heal someone, that doesn't mean that the Good Physician in heaven was not a part of that miracle...God does miracles so humbly, so quietly, and so gently that I personally do not think He wants us to notice His involvement in the miracle...Maybe God is doing many miracles in our lives everyday...Maybe we just miss them...
The small quiet things in life often are the most important...A gentle hug, a soft I love you, forgiving an old friend, or quiet time with a friend or family sometimes are the most important parts of our entire lives...Often these are the times we remember most...And maybe these things relate to God and miracles...Miracles in the small, quiet important parts of our lives...God humbly does these quiet miracles so gently and are such a part of our day, that we fail to hear the voice of God's LOVE for us...
Our God is a God of miracles...
