John 3:16-17
God LOVES the World
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Mark 2:13-17
Jesus Came for Sinners
13 Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them. 14 As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.
15 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
2 Corinthians 5:16-21
Not Counting Our Sins
16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
God LOVES us...He knows we sin...He sent His Son to die for us, even though we sin...And even though we are sinners, God did not send His Son into this world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him...So Jesus came into this world for sinners...He makes that clear when He was recruiting Matthew to be a Disciple of His...He tells us that He came to earth not to call the righteous, but for sinners...God has reconciled the world to Himself in Jesus...
And He is not counting people’s sins against them...And God has committed to us the message of reconciliation...Imagine this, God is not counting our sins against each of us...This is a great show of LOVE...A type of LOVE that looks through our all failings, all our weaknesses, all of our shortcomings and still He LOVES us...
Forgiveness is a great sign of love...God is the Great Forgiver...He is full of mercy and full of grace...He is full of forgiveness...
