Mark 3:7-12
Crowds Follow Jesus
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed. 8 When they heard all he was doing, many people came to him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon. 9Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him. 10 For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him. 11 Whenever the evil spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” 12 But he gave them strict orders not to tell who he was.
John 2:4
Jesus Always Knew the Right Time
4"Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come."
Mark 2:10-11
Authority to Forgive Sins
10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”
Luke 12:49:53
Not Peace but Division
49 “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed! 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52 From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
There was something about Jesus that was different...He was like no other man , if it is even fair to call Him a man...He had a charismatic authority, wherever He went...This Authority was given to Him by His Father...I like to think of this Authority as His Divine Charisma...He had a Divine Charismatic Authority about Himself as others saw Him, listened to Him, and followed Him...
Wherever He went He had an impact on people...Even today two thousand years later, He has an impact on people...If He were to walk the streets of our towns and cities today, He would still have this impact...He would know the perfect thing to say, and the perfect time to day it...It would not be like you just going up to someone, or even a friend and talking about God...He can and would do it in such a way people would want to listen to Him, because of this Divine Charisma and then you would be impacted by Him...
Jesus' influence when He met people is unexplainable (for this author), except for this Divine Charisma...He would change you, and if He did not change you -your life would be affected by His impact and contact that you just had with Him...It seems all those who personally met Him and the people that He made contact with, for some divine reason, could not be neutral or apathetic toward Him...The gospels do not explain this neutrality effect...His Divine Charismatic Authority, gave you either -one of belief or one of opposition to Him...It seems those meeting Him, either accepted and believed Him or they rejected Him...There was not a middle ground that we see or read about in the gospels or New Testament...I think this point of meeting Him and believing in the "accepting or rejecting" (of Him) argument -is strengthened in Luke, when He tells us He came to bring fire on earth...He did not come even to bring peace on earth...He will even divide families...It seems impossible to be neutral on Him after meeting Him and listening to Him...
Jesus has the authority from God to forgive sins...He talks like no other Teacher and has this Divine Self Esteem from God that gave Him this authority like no other...When people were listening to Him, it was like He had authority on His own...It is a God given authority...No other Teacher before Him or after Him taught has taught like Him...Jesus is like no other...There is no question, He is the most unique Man to ever walk our earth...
