Mark 1:9-13
A Voice from Heaven
9 At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
12 At once the Spirit sent him out into the wilderness, 13 and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.
We read in Mark who writes: "And a voice came from heaven, ‘You are My beloved Son; with You I AM well pleased.’”...This verse is an affirmation of Jesus' identity as the Son of God...And in Luke 3:22 we read: "And the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove...And a voice came from heaven, ‘You are My beloved Son; with You I AM well pleased.’”...This verse is yet another affirmation of Jesus' identity as the Son of God...And there are similar verses in Matthew 3:17 where God recognizes Jesus as His Son and says that He is well pleased with Him...
These verses emphasize God's LOVE and acceptance not only for His Son, but also for all His children...They remind us that we are precious in His sight and that He delights in us...
