John 14:1-4
Jesus Telling About His Father's House
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
John 14:27
Peace Jesus Gives Us
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Mark 2:1-12
Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man
1 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? 9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.”So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
A home is a place of comfort and good feelings...When one gets home after being away, they usually feel better and more peaceful...There is a feeling about home, that is just a right type of feeling...And there is a House that is built in Grace and Truth that the feelings of being in this House are of complete joy...There is a peace in this House like no other...And much of about this House is the Great Host...The Hosts are Heavenly Hosts...
Jesus describes His Father's house to His Disciples...We know that His Father’s House has many rooms...This House can hold very many...If that were not so, Jesus would have told us...Jesus went to His Father's House and prepares a place for those who believe in Him...And if we believe then we know that He will come back and take us to be with Him, so that we can be where He is...We know where His Father's House is and so we know the way to the place where He went and was ascended...The way to get to this House is faith...The way to this House is to believe in God and believe also in Jesus...
So Jesus will come back so that we can be where He is...This is a great hope, and it takes faith and belief to be with Him and His Father...And as I read these verses, I think of another house where Jesus was at when He lived on earth... There were some friends of the paralyzed man who carried this sick man to the house of the One they believed could heal him...They carried this crippled one to the house in which Jesus was...These men knew this was the house where they needed to be...They wanted to be in the house where Jesus was...We want to be in the House where Jesus is...Jesus forgave this man first, and then He healed Him...The paralyzed man knew this Man in this house was One who would bring Him peace and freedom from his illness...This man and his friends had faith...
There is a House where we want to live forever...Jesus calls it His Father' House...
