Mark 1:35
Jesus Prays in a Solitary Place
35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Matthew 6:5-8
When you pray close the door to your room
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
Jesus give us much information about prayer...He prays often...He also give examples on how He prays...Very early in the morning, even while it was still dark, He got up and left the house...He maybe did not want to bother those in the house, so He left very early...He went off to a solitary place and prayed...He tells us when we do pray, go into a room and close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen...Our Father knows what goes on in secret and He will reward you...It is best to pray quietly and do not draw attention to yourself...
Jesus teaches us prayer is personal with our Father...It is good to pray alone, behind closed doors or in a solitary place...It is also good to pray early in the morning to start your day...No one, but our Father, knows exactly how are day will go...But our days do go better when we pray to our Father...
Sometime we get in the habit of a same short prayer over and over...That prayer is good as long as the prayer is honest and still from your heart...Just repeating the words on a prayer, especially a long prayer, He tells us is babbling...Our Father knows what we need, so be honest with Him and from the heart...
Our Father knows we are sinners and we need prayer...Always remember we are praying for ourselves and others...We are not praying, because our Father needs it, it is because we need prayer...So when you pray, be sincere...Pray early and pray many times during your day...Pray alone often...Make the time and take the time to have a personal relationship with our Father in your prayers...When we pray, we have to mean it...Be honest in your prayers, and have your words come from your heart...
