Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. 33 But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. 34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
35 By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. “This is a remote place,” they said, “and it’s already very late. 36 Send the people away so that they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.”
37 But he answered, “You give them something to eat.”
They said to him, “That would take more than half a year’s wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?”
38 “How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Go and see.”
When they found out, they said, “Five—and two fish.”
39 Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. 41 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate and were satisfied, 43 and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. 44 The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand.

Jesus Withdraws to Be Alone
16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Matthew 6:19-21
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Jesus teaches us the eternities...And in the eternities are the spiritual and sacred...The people following Him learned about His teachings of God and the eternal...He taught His five thousand followers about God and these things...But He also can do all things, since all things made, are made through Him...But we learn more from Jesus' abilities and wisdom in the story of His feeding of the five thousand...The body needs rest, bodily food, and spiritual food...Jesus knows all that we need...Jesus would take care of the five thousand's spiritual needs, and then He would take care of their bodily needs...
And Jesus had just sent out His Twelve Disciples to teach others about the good news...Those sent out may have been tired from their travels and teachings...The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to Him all they had done and taught...Then, because so many people were coming and going to see Him, they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them, “Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”...So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place...Jesus provides us a comforting rest that we need...He knows when we work we get tired...He provides rest for those who look to Him...So He tells His the ones He sent out to get some rest...In fact, we know that He often withdrew to lonely places and prayed...He knows what it is like to be a Man...At times, the body needs rest...Going to a peaceful solitary place can be a helpful place when we need rest...It is good that we have alone time for prayer...
Jesus knows we need food and water for the body for nourishment...He also knows the body needs rest...But He also came to tell us we need prayer...We need the spiritual and eternal things that He can only provide...And through these things, Jesus restores us...He came into this world to give us a spiritual renewal...He came to bring our attention back to His Father...And He done these things so humbly and subtle, and in such a way we could miss these things...But these are the things we really most treasure, those things of the heart and of heaven...
