Michael Green

Michael Green

Michael Green was one of those jockeys whose only win came as the result of a dead heat.

At Taunton on March 15, 1958, his mount, Happy Simone, and Fighter Pilot, ridden by Baden Boot, could not be separated at the end of the Corfe Selling Hurdle. A six-year-old trained by Harry Davison, Happy Simone had run three times already that season, twice ridden by Michael and once by Baden Boot, but one fourth-place finish was the best she had achieved. She did not race again following her Taunton success.

Those three rides on Happy Simone comprised half of just six mounts Michael Green had all that season. He did not renew his licence for the following one.
