Russ Garrity

Russell John Garritty was born on October 11, 1965, and apprenticed to M. W. Easterby.

He is the son of a Normanton (Wakefield) builder, and originally wanted to be a rugby player.

He rode his first winner, Blind Burn, at Newcastle, March 17, 1986, and took his last ride on Lease Lend, which finished third at Aintree on May 18, 2007.

He rode a few notable winners including Ask Tom in the 1997 Tingle Creek Chase & Young Kenny in the 2000 Becher Chase.
