Jeremy Glover

Jeremy Anton Glover was born at Beeston, Nottinghamshire, on September 23, 1944, and was apprenticed to Basil Foster and Harvey Leader.

His first winner was Portrait Attachment at Newmarket on August 11, 1962.

Jeremy is the son of a managing director of a soap and chemical company.

He started riding aged nine and won a number of gymkhana and show jumping competitions.

Weighing just 4st 10lbs, he went straight to Foster's Newmarket yard from school.

He rode just three winners on the Flat before becoming too heavy.

His first NH win came on Primlia at Warwick in November 1965.

His jockey injuries included a broken neck and jaw.


Jeremy later became a successful trainer and won the Cambridgeshire four times before retiring in 2005.

His best win as a jockey came on Clarification in the 1974 Brooke Bond Oxo Grand National at Warwick.
