The year is marked by four great holidays : Samhain, Beltane, Imbolc and Lughnasadh.
Each one is an occasion for gatherings, banquets, drinking and sacred rites!
Samhain (night of October 31st) :
marks the beginning of winter and the time at which our world is closest to the Otherworld. Celebrates the dead.
Samhain is associated with fire : fire kept in hearths, to lead the dead…
Imbolc (February 1st) :
marks the end of winter. At this time, “lambs are born and ewes are ready to milk”.
Beltane (May 1st) :
marks the transition from the dark season to the light. Daytime activities pick up again, as longer days allow for them.
Lughnasadh (August 1st) :
right in the middle of the harvest season. Celebrates peace, abundance and prosperity for all kingdoms.
Each kingdom also celebrates regional holidays on top of these four. All in all, denizens of the kingdom of Britain know how to party.
