Presentation and Discussion Report: Life in detention centerInterests: When I research about detention center at Australia, it was so terrible. So, I became interested in how about Japan.

Research Question: What life in detention center is like, Are there any difference between official web-page and actual situation?

Research method: Research on official web-page, visit Ushiku detention center and interview with detainees and supporters. After research, I try to compare these two.

Findings: There are any gaps between them, for example official page said they can get medical treatment in detention center, but they need too much time to apply a doctor actually.

Discussion and Conclusion: What do you think about this gap? Can you believe any both sides?

I was confused because I think these both side is not wrong. Of course Government’s attitude is too strict and not good but why? What is their back ground? I guess, political remarks is difficult and we should not understand just surface. I want to try to understand deeply.

Tomo pointed out other detention center might not have any gap between official web-page, because there are many kinds of detention center in Japan, and governments announced inclusively, not just Ushiku. Life in detention center is enough or not is controversial issue.
