Certain host service providers make use of a separate LAN ports on Com.X devices to connect the device directly to the provider’s WAN.
Utilising the Wanderbox in such a scenario, we recommend creating a second VLAN port on the Wanderbox, where LAN1 also acts as the physical interface.
Here it would be required to configure the VLAN ID to match that configured on the service provider’s WAN, then the installer may connect both the Wanderbox directly to the WAN Router, or even via a standard “unmanaged” Ethernet switch.
This scenario is shown below:

Though the Wanderbox ships with VLAN 103 configured by default, it is possible to create several VLANs, all tied to the same physical ethernet port.
VLAN ports can be configured with static IP addresses, or to act either as DHCP server or a DHCP client.
