Once a FOP2 license has been activated on a device, it is tied to that device, however, a valid license may be revoked and re-activated on another device, in the event of a device swap out.
It is ideal to revoke the FOP2 license before swapping the units, so that it is ready to be activated on the new unit.
To revoke a FOP2 license, ssh into the unit and issue the following command:
sudo /usr/share/fop2/fop2_server --revoke
The system will request the activation key that you would like to revoke. Enter the activation key associated with your unit.
This will revoke the activation key on the device, freeing it up for use on another device.
Note: If the activation key is not known, the license can not be revoked remotely. In this case, we need to contact FOP2 and have them revoke the license from their side.
