Manually Licensing a device without GUI access

If licenses for Com.X or Wanderbox were retrieved from the Comma GUI( if you followed How to retrieve Comma-GUI license), then to use this Comma GUI license file to license Com.X or Wanderbox, the follow the below process to license Com.X or Wanderbox.

  1. Extract the Commagui.zip file retrieved from Comma Gui.
  2. Ensure the Commagui file only contains the license files with Com.X or Wanderbox serial number in form of FSNXXXXXX and the licensekey.p12 file. The rest of the files should be deleted.
  1. Open WinSCP and login into Wanderbox. (See Using winSCP to log into Com.X or Wanderbox to retrieve files)
  2. Double click on the on folder with Arrow.(See below)
  1. Double click on comma folder.
  1. Copy the Commagui file containing the licenses to this comma folder, by dragging the across from the Local directory(C:) to/home/comma directory with WinSCP.
    1. Revert back to the SSH session, and SSH into the Com.X or Wanderbox.(See How to SSH into a Wanderbox or Com.X )
  1. if you type the command 'ls' , you will see the Commagui folder.
  2. From the command line type: sudo cp -a Commagui/. /etc/commagui/ (This command copies all the license files in Commagui folder to the /etc/commagui directory)
    1. Then restart the Comma Gui by typing from the command line: sudo /etc/init.d/comma-gui restart
    2. License will be loaded now, and you will be able login into Comm GUI and configure Com.X or Wanderbox.
