BRI loop back test

To confirm if BRI ports are healthy and links come up, follow the below procedure.

1. Using a standard RJ45 LAN cable, connect BRI port 1-1 to 1-2 and BRI ports 1-3 to 1-4

2. Log into the Comma GUI of Com.X

3. Select Start and then Configuration.

4. Select the Hardware tab

5. Select the Comma Device the BRI ports are attached to, under devices.

6. On the right side, under Ports, find ISDN BRI

7. Right click on Port 1-1 and select edit

8. Set link type as Point to Point and Tick Act as NT only.

9. Select Accept

10.Right click on Port 1-2 and select edit

11. Set link type as Point to Point and Tick Bus Termination.

12. Select Accept.

13. Repeat steps 7 to 9 for Port 1-3

14. Repeat steps 10 to 12 for Port 1-4

15. Then select Review Apply

16. Select the Monitoring tab

17. Select Telephony and then select mIsdn stack status

13. The below screen should appear.

If L1 Link is UP for all ports and stays up, then this means that the ports are healthy. L2 link is dynamic and will be brought up when a call is detected. If L1 link does not stay up, then the BRI ports on the Com.X is probably faulty.
