Call Recording Behaviour

1.5 systems offer increased flexibility for call recording configurations.

For each potential destination, it is now possible to fully control the call recording behaviour.

You can now select individual inbound routes and outbound routes. Further, call recording could be switched off for some destinations, and then re-enabled on other destinations.

• The "Force" and "Never" acts as override settings and are preferred to the "yes" or "no" settings.
• "Yes" and "No" are prioritised equally. If more than one "yes" or "no" is set in a call flow, the first one set will be honoured for the entire call flow. A "yes" or "no" setting that appears subsequently will not override the first "yes" or "no" that is set in the call flow.
• "Force" and "Never" will always override any call recording setting set earlier in the call flow.
  • "Force" and "Never" will override each other
  • "Force" and "Never" will override all instances of a "Yes" or "No" previously set in the call.
  • "Yes" and "No" will not override a "Force" or "Never"
• The "Don't Care" setting will just inherit whichever call recording setting has been set previously in the call. If the call is already recording, it will not stop, if the call is not already recording, it will not start.

It may be easier to think of the "No" setting as "I would rather not record this portion of the call, unless I have been told to record this call earlier in the call". In this case, the "Yes" setting would mean "I'd like to record this portion of the call, unless I have been explicitly told not to record the call, earlier in the call flow."

"Force" would then mean "Start or resume recording now" and "Never" would mean "stop recording the call now".

"Don't care" then means "Don't change the call recording status now".
