If phones are managed by the PBX system, they need to be informed, during DHCP negotiations, of where to retrieve their configuration files.
For this purpose it is often easiest to have one of the ethernet interfaces on the Com.X or Wanderbox act as DHCP server.
In order for the DHCP server on the device to start healthily, each added device (in this case each managed SIP phone) should have a unique name. If, for example, all phones are named by the model number, and some phones of the same model are in use, then the DHCP service will not start.
It is recommended that Managed SIP Phones are named either for their users, or their MAC Addresses.
The status of the DHCP server can be viewed on the status page of the GUI. Look for the isc-dhcp-server entry under Sevices.
The DHCP server will not start correctly if added hardware devices feature the same name!
