Alcatel 4200E to Com.X10

1. Start off with settings: "E1 No CRC" and "Transmit clocking" enabled on PRI P1 of the Com.X
2. Using the supplied PRI cross-over cable connect the 'NETW' port of the Alcatel PRA card to the PRI P-1 port of the Com.X10. Note you may have to remove a few
   1. covers in order to get the PRI cable to the 'NETW' port of the PRA card.

1. If the supplied cat5 cable is not long enough you will need to make up another cat5 cable using crimping tool:

1. Confirm that there are no errors generated on the Alcatel PRA card:

1. Connect to the Com.X10 via ssh:
2. - Connect to the PRI card:

4. - Print out the status of the PRI port:
5. > t1e1 status

• Make sure that there are no alarms under 'alarms'
• Make sure there are less than 4 tslips/rslips per minute (You can run the "t1e1 status" command again)
• Make sure that 'cabledb' is less than '3'. If '15' then check cable again.
1. Under the GUI check the span status:

1. Should there be any RAI errors cropping up on either end: Check the remote side's RX signal path (i.e. if Alcatel has RAI check Com.X10 RX and vise versa).
   1. Remote alarm indication means that the remote side of the PRI connection is experiencing problems with it's Rx signal.
   2. If the RX wiring OK and still RAI on Alcatel then change the "E1 No CRC" to "E1 CRC-4" and check again.
2. Once there are no errors on either side conduct a test call to the Alcatel PBX by dialing '10338453200' from your connected Zoiper account ('100' extension on the Com.X10)
   1. The '1' prepended to the number will direct the Com.X10 to use PRI port P-1 to call the Alcatel via an outbound route.
   2. Confirm someone picks up and normal audio is heard.
3. If the test call was successful then this indicates a problem with the Crona block wiring.
4. If the direct RJ45 to RJ45 connection failed then you can connect PRI P-1 to PRI P-2 and set P1 Timing mode to 'local' (you'll need to set this back to 'system' when connecting back to the Alcatel):

1. Take close up pictures of each of the connections: of the Crona block, the Com.X10 and the Alcatel PRA card.

2.5.3.1 X-bits (X1, X2) X1 and X2 are used to indicate received errored multiframes to the remote end (remote alarm indication "RAI" or "yellow" signal); these bits are set to binary 1 (i.e. X1 = X2 = 1) during error free condition, and to binary 0 (i.e. X1 = X2 = 0) if Loss of Signal (LOS), Out of Frame (OOF), Alarm Indication Signal (AIS), or Slips are detected in the incoming signal. The maximum allowed rate of change of state for the X-bits is once a second; therefore, the X-bits should be set to binary 0 for a length of time equal to the length of the error condition, but rounded-up to the next integer.
