If one of the ethernet ports on the Com.X or a VLAN is acting as the DHCP server for the handset, then the GUI should automatically detect a new device and inform the user on the hardware page of the GUI. If so go to step 4
If the handset received its IP address from a DHCP server other than the Com.X, it may not be automatically detected and it is then necessary to scan the network for devices, then:
3. Select Scan and then select Scan Entire network
4. Select Options and the select Detected
5. A Select Device window will appear, showing all detected device.
Below screenshot shows detected device list with automatically detected handset. No network scan.
Below screenshot shows adding a detected device after a scan. Notice how many devices are in the list.
6. Search for the device you want to add. Below is an example of a detected Managed SIP phone.
7. Select the device, and select OK
8. A Phone Configuration window will appear. The below shows the hardware settings for the device. If the device was detected as a “Managed SIP Phone” device, then all of the fields should already be configured. An appropriate device name can entered.

All the registration fields of the handsets configuration can be manually entered and the hardware added. The Com.X will identify the device by MAC address and automatically enter the IP address assigned to the handset.
3. Enter model number, attached network and MAC Address of the device and name it appropriately
