Sensor / Probe

With this sensor, you can easily monitor changes in CO2 levels occurring in respiration of organisms ranging from peas to humans. A 250 mL respiration chamber with probe attachment is included for running controlled experiments with small plants and animals.

  • On the high range, you can explore human respiratory changes in CO2 levels based on exercise.

  • The lower range offers more sensitivity for cellular respiration and photosynthetic metabolism studies.

  • Vernier Software

Sample Investigation

The lab investigates how cellular respiration and photosynthesis are related and can change.

Independent variable: Light, CO2, or Temperature

Dependent variables: Levels of O2 and/or CO2

Controls: Temperature, Volume, Light(If not independent variable), time

*** I could not get the software to load on the computer due to needing the tech on campus to load the information onto the computer. The tech has not been able to get to my computer to load the software so I took pictures of the screen.****
