The Vernier Go Direct S
pectroVis Plus Spectrophotometer is a bluetooth enabled spectrophotometer that is capable of measuring the wavelength spectrum of a liquid sample to produce a graph that demonstrates absorbance, percent transmittance, fluorescence, and/or emissions. Such measuring abilities are beneficial for studies including, but not limited to:
-Absorbance spectra of plants
-Absorbance vs time or absorbance vs concentration
-Beer's law
-Rates of reaction
Unique to the Vernier Go Direct SpectroVis Plus Spectrophotometer is that data can be collected by the spectrophotometer and transmitted via bluetooth to any computational devise with bluetooth (ex. chromebook, PC, or Mac). Additionally Vernier provides free software that collects, manages, and analyzes any data that is collected.
This Spectrophotometer works by transmitting light into a diffraction gradient that breaks white light into its constituent parts. The diffracted light then passess through the sample and collected by a linear CCD Array Detector. This detector will indicate which wavelengths are transmitted/reflected through the sample and which are not present (absorbed).
