Questioning Script

Prior knowledge & experience:

Students know human breath out CO2 but they do not understand why and do not understand why the solution changes color due to just breathing in the solution. Students not see our breath have something that can cause a change.

Root question:

What is happening to the solution that causes it to change color? Why is that coming out of our bodies?

Target response:

CO2 from the teachers breath is going into the solution and turning the solution acidic. The CO2 comes from your body because your body is going through cellular respiration.

Common Misconceptions:

Humans exhale oxygen

We breath out air
