Audience:
An environmental science teacher would benefit by a visit to The Wildlife Learning Center because it provides local examples of displaced animals by the expansion of human cities.
The center shows the impact of the pet trade on animals such as large reptiles
Any life science teacher that wants to show the affects of humans on animals.
There are many animals at the center that have been injured due to cars or other city phenomenon
Science Concepts Addressed:
Ecological restoration: There are handouts on preserving the natural habitat of these animals
Endangered habitats: There is a red tail hawk that was hit by a car because a freeway goes through his home
Biodiversity: the center is the home of many animal and plant species
Adaptations: Many examples of species adaptations can be encountered as students go through their walk
