Deck 1: Leadership Capacity Domain
The Pacific East District adheres to all organizational and federal policies that have led to consistent implementation and enforcement of a code of ethics, as evidenced by:
Creating strong partnerships with our association partners
Partnering with the Center for Early Dispute Resolution (CEDR) to promote positive culture
Adopting the Department of Defense system for mandated trainings, the Defense Acquisition University (DAU-Cornerstone)
Communicating ethical business behavior practices and implementing that behavior into the workplace
Establishing and following standards of conduct
Establishing uniform school and faculty handbooks aligned to the organization’s mission and vision
Adhering and enforcing civil rights laws related to the workplace according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision (EEOC)
The Pacific East District partners with the Federal Education Association (FEA) to promote a high quality learning environment that benefits teachers and their students. Samples of outcomes from the partnership are monthly JCC meetings at the school and district level, professional learning days with school site principals and the Federal Education Association's Faculty Representative Spokesperson (FRS), and the continuation of collaborative efforts with the union in decision making.
The formal agreement between the agency and FEA is the “Negotiated Agreement.”
DoDEA personnel are required to complete a series of mandatory training annually to remain in compliance with DoD regulations and improve organizational effectiveness.
The Pacific East utilizes DoDEA’s online comprehensive learning platform to conduct a multitude of training, including ethic training. This system provides all DoDEA employees with an individualized professional learning platform that helps to sustain and grow the DoDEA workforce.
CEDR (DoDEA's Center for Early Dispute Resolution) is a neutral, confidential resource that assists DoDEA and its employees in addressing and managing conflicts and disputes in a constructive manner, at the earliest possible time, and at the lowest possible level.
The DoDEA Employee Standards of Conduct and Ethics Handbook provides expectations, regulations, policies, and guidance for maintaining ethical employee conduct.
The Pacific East has implemented an aligned digital handbook to ensure equitable procedures across the district that have strong ethics and high expectations for codes of conduct.
