The Rimehold

An icebound tundra the polar region is contained by the wreath of the Eldercrown mountains in the north, a place of lifelessness and frozen death.

Geography

The Bitter Ravines. Where the titanic glacier of the Rimefloe forms rivulets that cut through canyons in ever-shifting bridges of ice and boulders carried along by the floes. Those who witness the deviations of the floes tell of a chilling dance of nature's ancient spirits.

The Sea Unseen. The vast ocean hidden beneath the ices of the Rimehold, none know truly its borders or what could lie within its depths.

The Wendyg. A malevolent blizzard that brings a swath of icy terror across the edges of the Eldercrowns north of the Vespered Timberlands. Said to be a vengeful storm curse by a powerful Dragon Queen in her death throes near the end of the Ashbreak Rebellion.

Roads and Landmarks

Court of the Winter's Queen. Immense monoliths of blackened ice interspersed with vague humanoid formations of ice. Those that have dared venture near tell only of its unsettling nature and the creeping sensation of movement amongst the icy figures.

The Numbed March. The bronzed pylons formed by the transmutative magics of a long lost dwarven endeavor to penetrate the icy realm set out from Dymkrag. None dare follow them as they serve only to remind those of the icy grave beyond.

The World Aura. Rarely witnessed this convergence of Magicae Materium, or the arcanahedrals that make up magical energy in the world is a haunting display of the world's terrible essence. Said to be as if one is bearing witness to a great atrocity that is just beyond cognitive measure, yet expressed in hues of color and light that course through the sky in strange writhing undulations.

Settlements

The wretched cold of the region cause even the most warded of settlements to falter, left abandoned and to be taken once more by the ice.

Ruins and Subterrane

Many hold to legends of ancient days that the Rimehold seals away a great and terrible evil, a vestige of The Shadowed descended to the world. None know of any ruin or remnants of what had been, the Hiemal, the frozen hell beneath the region is as unyielding in attempts to known what lies within.
