Celehim

The Celehim are descendants of celestial beings bound to the material plane or blessed children of portent. They retain the power of their celestial lineage and draw on it to serve their divine purpose. Near inhuman in their interactions most feel apart from the rest of the peoples of the world. Drawn under the influence of Synstasia since the fall of the dragon kings, now ancient ancestries of celehim have done much to further the will of the gods of the Lighted Path. Yet each celehim must walk their own path in an age of peace. The celehim hold no seat on the Council of Arkyme.

Celehim Names

The names of the celehim are often divinely appointed and echo the sacred celestial tongue, whether in a dream by their parent or emblazoned in light upon their head at birth. Family names are seldom kept by celehim, but lineages of celehim choose names that give reverence to the divine spirit which they carry.

Celehim Traits

Ability Score Increase - Your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age - Celehim do not age physically after maturing, their celestial heritage allows them to live for more than a century.

Alignment - These demi-celestials hold true to their nature and favor good alignments, but the longer a Celehim strives on the material plane, the greater the chance for corruption.

Death - Your soul already carrying the spark of divinity, should you fall, your soul is claimed by the Upper Planes, unless fallen and claimed by evil actions or entities.

Size - Celehim are innately splendid and statuesque in form standing close to 7 feet in height. Your size is Medium.

Speed - 30 feet is your base walking speed.

Radiant Eyes - As an action you can tap into your divine heritage and gain Truesight out to 60 feet for 1 minute. You are able to see in normal and magical darkness, invisible creatures and objects, see through illusions, the true form of shapechangers, and onto the Ethereal Plane. You can use this ability again after a long rest.

Divine Protections - You have resistance to radiant damage and advantage on saving throws against frightened effects.

Ameliorate – You can touch another creature as an action and they regain hit points equal to your level and is freed from any disease, poison, blindness, or deafness. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Angelic Shroud – As an action you channel the celestial essence you bear within, as incorporeal wings sprout from your back and your eyes emit a divine glare. You come under the effect of the spell protection from evil and good. This transformation last for 1 minute. At 3rd level you gain a fly speed equal to your walking speed with use of this feature. Upon reaching 5th level the transformation last 10 minutes. You cannot use this again until you complete a long rest.

Languages – In your innate higher understanding you know Common and Celestial.

Subrace - Five subraces of celehim exist: sentinel celehim, maker celehim, guide celehim, scribe celehim, and guardian celehim. Choose one of them for your character.

Sentinel Celehim

These celehim are the blessed of Achonus, acting as paragons of justice and light in the world. Unwavering in their convictions to slay evil in all its forms, these celehim exhibit a divine brutality. 

Ability Score Increase – Your Strength score increases by 2.

Divine Armaments – While under the effects of your Angelic Shroud the power of angelic warriors suffuses you, gaining the ability to don or doff armor expending half of your movement and when you take the Attack action you can make a weapon attack as a bonus action.

Maker Celehim

The celehim granted the spark of creation, the chosen of Dilig, are fonts of holy works and tireless toil. Seeking to impart their gifts upon others, and stand resolute against forces of destruction.

Ability Score Increase - Your Constitution score increases by 2.

Holy Craft – Spending 10 minutes in prayerful meditation you can gain proficiency in an artisan tool of choice for 1 hour. Also when you make an ability check with an artisan tool you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Guide Celehim

Expressions of Domuq's nature these celehim are imbued with the majesty of the wilds. Ever striving to unite peoples under the blessing of nature and scorning the unnatural.

Ability Score Increase - Your Dexterity score increases by 2.

Nature’s Paths – While under the effects of your Angelic Shroud you gain the benefits of the Enhance Ability Spell as the power of the wilds takes your form. Also you can cast Locate Animals and Plants at will.

Scribe Celehim

Gifted with the endless knowledge of Litencia, of these celehim there is little beyond their divine intellects. Wishing to teach others and gather knowledge, each word they write passing into eternity.

Ability Score Increase - Your Intelligence score increases by 2.

Divine Knowledge – You can read and write any language. You also gain proficiency in one of the following skills, Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion.

Guardian Celehim

Empathetic in spirit, the celehim consecrated by Soel are arbiters of the border between life and death. Taking upon a divine mantle to shun the darkness in every corner of the world.

Ability Score Increase - Your Wisdom score increases by 2.

Spirit Call – While under the effects of your Angelic Shroud you can emit a bright light for 30 feet and dim light an additional 30 feet dispelling magical darkness created a 3rd level or lower spell in the range. Also when a creature within 30 feet of you makes a death saving throw you can use your reaction to grant the target hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. Once you use this feature you must complete a long rest before regaining its use.

Celehim Racial Feat

Angelic Wings. Prerequisite: Celehim

You manifest your celestial nature as the wings from your Angelic Shroud do not fade. You gain a fly speed of 30 feet. You must still use your Angelic Shroud to gain additional speed granted by any source and any other effects.

Celehim Attitudes

The Celehim hold most people at arm's length, feeling separate from this world, but when a celehim's respect is earned they become fierce friends.

Divifiend - "These fell offspring want to bring ruin to the material plane, yet their presence is tolerated by the other races, perhaps they yet fight against their fiendish nature."

Humans - "Our brethren have such great capacity for duality that their lives are a tempest of uncertainty and malaise."

Dwarves - "Steadfast as the mountain, yet the curse they deny within themselves makes them less than whole."

Vaulted Souls

Borne from the power of the Upper Planes, a celehim is a divine presence of the Lighted Path to the mortal realms. A child of promise to pious human parents or a scion of a guarded celehim lineage, the celehim have been the most vaulted of peoples. Prophecy and purpose mark the celehim's place in the world, and they are exhorted to this service. In past ages, the celehim were a rare gift, born leaders and heroes of peoples praying for deliverance. Yet with the passage into the Age of Earth, it is Synstasia that oft commands the celehim. Celehim children are often taken from their parents and will enter into the service of the orders of the Lighted Path. The experience of celehim over their lives are too often that of prey, the darkness of the world seeking to snuff out the light each celehim bears within them. This is nothing to say of the relentless desire of other to either exploit or beg for the innate abilities of the divinely blooded, to cure the ailing, herald prayers, and answer for the gods. 

Celestial Investure 

The celehim in their divine nature are expressions of the celestial beings that imbued their power into a mortal soul. For those known as Sentinel Celehim, it is the Promethi, the bearers of Achonus' Holy Flame and most supreme of heavenly warriors that arm them to combat the darkness. The Maker Celehim are forged by the Titanum, for they hold the axioms of creation and would have this imparted unto the world. Guide Celehim are suffused with the essence of the wilds, the Animuse, that spirit of animalistic will to survive and propagate that is within all things that Domuq touches. For the Scribe Celehim, they are the inquisitors of the Volumnor, the Word of Litencia made true in all realms, their knowledge is her knowledge. Woe are the Guardian Celehim, as arbiters of death, they are the warm embrace of the ushers of the dead, the Intercessiora made flesh, for it is by their power that Soel's judgement is stayed.

Divine Burden

All celehim are united in their purpose, to serve the will of the Lighted Path on the prime. Yet each and every celehim must struggle alone as any mortal might on how it is they bear this burden, yet there are those that scorn this duty. The corruption of mortality and existence weighs upon the celehim like no other people. Those who choose to use the power granted them to fulfill only their own desires, live not the life appointed them. The celehim that turn away from their nature begin the fall of their divine soul, a darkness yet unseen in all the realms.
