Year Years Day Garden Tick

Despite getting on with some decorating, a couple of fortuitous ambles into the garden resulted in two new birds for the garden. First were a couple of geese coming in from the south-east. They instantly looked wrong for Pink-foot, being sharper, slimmer winged looking, lacking P-F rather 'S' shaped profile and a grab for the bins confirmed a brace of Brent Geese heading over the hill. Unfortunately against the sun I could get little colouration to determine whether they be Light or Dark bellied. These were shortly followed by a couple of swans on the same sort of bearing and I was able to enjoy two Whooper Swan from the garden, making up for missing them from the garden a couple of weeks ago.
