Ooooh! Look! A Sibe....

Bit of birding before work this morning paid off, after checking a quiet nursery I decided to do 1/2 an hour on the clifftop. Picking my spot I set up the 'scope and after watching a Kestrel flying strongly out to sea, noticed a bird on the cliff edge further along the path. Raising my bins expecting to see a Mipit, a brute of a pipit was looking back at me, neatly streaked on the upper breast and an 'open' faced expression, a Richard's Pipit! True to Dick's form it favored poking about in the long grass where it kept being lost from view (not helped by looking straight into the sun) Soon after it got up with a couple of Stock Doves and bounded westwards 'shreeping' away. I did manage some record shots in a Dave Appleton stylie (sorry Dave!) which at the best, were crap! This was my second spring Richard's pip, the other being 25th/26th April 1997 at Sheringham.

not relly worth the web space!
