Northrepps/Sidestrand/Trimingham

SSW 2 overcast, sunny periods with heavy showers, warmer.

0645-1915

An absolute corker of a day right on the door step with birds seemingly everywhere this morning

A.M. Northrepps

Ring Ouzel 6 (3 from garden first thing, 3 at nursery (including a bird growing a new tail!)

Wheatear 51 (birds noted quickly flying west inland)

Willow Warbler 4

Whinchat 2 (FOTS)

Blackcap 5

Lesser Whitethroat 1

Tree Pipit 1in off at Sidestrand

Swift 4 over Sidestrand

Common Sandpiper Sidestrand

Osprey 1 flew east over house late morning

Grasshopper Warbler 2 Couldn't believe it! As we were doing a bit of gardening before lunch a Gropper started reeling from our Privet hedge!! It soon moved along the back gardens, reeling occasionally, and was joined briefly by another over the road from our house. Cracking garden tick!

P.M.

Just ahead of the midday deluge Wheatears appeared to be dropping out of the sky, landing on the house, and flying through the village. A couple of ours later however, as the rain stopped it was as if nothing had happened, no wheatears, rouzels, nothing.

An evening visit to Trimingham and Sidestrand found an additional 16 Wheatear and a nice group of 13 flavissima Wags but little else, the morning had taken the glory!

Rouzel, minus tail

loadsa colourful White-arses...

and a not so colourful hen Whinchat....
