On the edge of the village, our garden has great views to the surrounding countryside and fields , including some classic 'North Sea' hedges, the type that are hammered sideways by the wind and tend to grow that way! We're less than a kilometre from the coast as the Pallid Harrier flies, and look out on to the bird friendly area of Hungry Hill.
This hedge runs due north-east from the garden, and will now be known as......East Hedge!
Also seen from the garden is this clump in the field, decided to call this, rather optimistically, Shrike Point!! (it looks classic for a shrike, sort of piddly group of bushes a Lesser-grey would love to visit!
