...though not with H2O, this morning it was raining birds! Up on the Hill first thing and Song Thrushes, Robins and Dunnocks were seemingly everywhere, with Song Thrushes evident in every binocular view. Also here 7 Wheatear and singles of Redstart and Ring Ouzel. Further along the road it was also apparent that finches were coming in, dropping in to feed on the weedy patches in the sugar beet and along the hedgerows, mainly Chaffinch with smaller numbers of Greenfinch, Brambling and parties of Siskin, either breifly dropping in or continuing westwards. Another Redstart, Chiffchaff and a couple of Reed Bunting also around this area, before all too soon I had to be at work. I did manage to get to Trimingham though 'between appointments' and a quick circuit here produced 3 White Wagtail, 3 Wheatear, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and another Redstart. After tea this evening alongside the Song Thrushes in the garden stripping the elder tree we had our first Spotted Flycatcher a Blackcap and the 4th Redstart of the day, and our first from the garden.
