0840-1230 E 4-5 Overcast, showery becoming bright

A thoroughly enjoyable morning watching offshore at Mundesley as wildfowl poured through north-westwards. I did my best to count everything but probably came up a bit short on Wigeon and Brent.

Brent Goose-630

Wigeon - 120

Eider - 188

Shelduck - 275

Common Scoter - 129

Red-breasted Merganser - 12

Teal - 30

Gadwall - 7

Goldeneye - 17

Pintail - 6

Additionally singles of Red-necked Grebe, Great Northern Diver and Pale-bellied Brent Goose all moved NW.

After lunch i went to see if the Waxwings were still about in Northrepps, drew a blank on these but did have a Black Redstart on The Rectory roof.

Eider

Brent with a Wigeon

Brent and Eider

Pale-bellied Brent. These 4 birds flew in from the north rather than from the south east. Single Pale-bellied with 3 Dark-bellied. Possibly same reported from Trimingham and Cley?

Kittiwake

Black Redstart
