rarities at last!!

Was tempted to put '.....sneaking around the side of the private site it came out into full view, a lifer, a major Norfolk rare, and just reward for sticking local, an adult male........' But then there were so many too choose from, it all got too confusing, besides which, it's really not my style!

These were found whilst cheeking out a likely looking Lesser-spot site (drew a blank there) A point of concern was that when I approached a Mandarin pen, three of them took to the wing and f****** off!! There were also Shelduck dropping in (presumably wild?) and a vast array of Chilhoe x European Wigeon cross! Will be keeping an eye open here during the breeding season as to what does breed and whether they all get pinioned. Also present were several of Defra's finest along with Snow, Red-breasted and Lesser White-fronted Geese, Bufflehead and Hooded Merganser, and a pair of Demoiselle Crane. Absent from the line up were Ring-necked Duck, Fudge Duck, Blue-winged Teal, Red-crested Pochard, Green-winged Teal and Gargany
