I was impressed by the Fresnel lens at the San Francisco Maritime Park Visitor Center at Fisherman's Wharf. The lens came from the Bay Area's first lighthouse on the Farallon Islands. The polished glass prisms were designed to concentrate and beam light to the greatest possible distance at sea. What a treat to see such a beautiful lens!
